Accessibility Statement

Last updated: September 2026

My commitment

I, John Cloutier - Kinésiologue / Kinesiologist, am committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, including people with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities. I believe everyone should be able to access information about my services with dignity and independence.

Standards I follow

There is no single law that specifically mandates web accessibility for a private kinesiology practice in Quebec. That said, I voluntarily hold myself to the following standards and legal frameworks as the basis for my commitment:

Quebec

  • Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms (RLRQ, c. C-12) — prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability by any person or organization, public or private, and underpins the right of persons with disabilities to access services on an equal basis.

  • Act to Secure Handicapped Persons in the Exercise of Their Rights (RLRQ, c. E-20.1) — establishes the general right of persons with disabilities to access services, and obliges public bodies to make their websites accessible.

  • Standard sur l'accessibilité des sites Web (SGQRI 008-3.0) — the Quebec government's technical web accessibility standard (WCAG 2.1, Level AA, plus select WCAG 2.2 criteria). This standard is legally binding only for public bodies, but I use it as my voluntary technical benchmark.

Canada

  • Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and Canadian Human Rights Act — protect against discrimination on the basis of disability; the Human Rights Act applies directly to federally regulated organizations, and I reference its principles as best practice.

  • Accessible Canada Act (S.C. 2019, c. 10) — requires accessibility planning for federally regulated entities. While my business is not federally regulated, I align with its underlying goals.

International

  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) — the internationally recognized technical standard for web accessibility, and the benchmark I aim to meet.

Measures I take

To support accessibility on this website, I:

  • Add meaningful text descriptions (alt text) to all photos and images

  • Run the Wix accessibility wizard on my site and address the issues it identifies

  • Choose readable fonts, adequate color contrast, and clear page structure

  • Review and update these measures on an ongoing basis as the site evolves

Known limitations

Despite my best efforts, some parts of this website may not yet be fully accessible. I am actively working to identify and fix these issues.
